Flexco assemblies for high power handling.

Delivering high power at RF and microwave frequencies isn't just for RG217 and Heliax anymore.  Flexco's super-flexible kW Series coaxial cables are used in high reliability applications such as wafer fabrication equipment for the semiconductor industry, industrial lasers, and high power FAA and military radar transmitters.

CW or average power handling capability of any cable assembly depends on many factors including connectors, frequency, size, temperature, routing, airflow/convection, and more. In all cases average power failure will occur when the input power generates resistive and dielectric heating in the cable at a rate which is greater than the rate at which built up energy can be dissipated through the different layers of cable and is radiated away from the cable assembly via its outer surfaces.

Flexco's air articulated PTFE dielectrics allow the transfer of heat from the center conductor to the outer conductor to occur more rapidly than solid or tape-wrapped dielectrics, which act as an insulator and will actually restrict heat transfer. Coupled with Flexco's unique outer conductor design with deep convolutions, Flexco cables provide higher CW power handling capabilities than other cable assemblies of similar size - with super flexibility.
